On the occasion of Macedonian Miners’ Day, DPTU “Buchim” DOOEL Radovish organized a ceremony dedicated to the people whose knowledge, hard work, and responsibility have shaped and continue the company’s mining tradition.
The event was attended by representatives of the Government, state institutions and local government, as well as Buchim employees, associates, partners, and friends.
The ceremony opened with a look back at an archival Radio-Television Skopje program from 1979 dedicated to Buchim and titled “Shared Wealth.” Nearly half a century later, these words still capture the essence of the company — value created by generations of miners and employees.
Buchim’s story began in 1972, with regular production starting in 1979. The launch of operations at Borov Dol in 2021 and the integration of the two mines in 2025 marked the beginning of a new stage in the company’s development.
Over the years, generations, technologies, working conditions, and management approaches have changed, but Buchim has continued to operate, develop, and create value for its employees, the local community, and the national economy.
In his address, Deputy General Manager Ivica Karapetrov emphasized that Buchim’s future is being built through safer processes, modern technologies, carefully planned investments, and continuous investment in employee knowledge and development.
“Our task is to ensure that what generations before us have built over decades has a stable and sustainable future. I believe we have the knowledge, the experience and, most importantly, the people to make that happen,” Karapetrov said.
This message was at the heart of the entire celebration: a company with such a history is not built on ore, plants, and machinery alone. It is built by people — those who were part of its beginnings, those who developed it over the years, and all those who today carry the responsibility of leading it forward.
On the occasion of Macedonian Miners’ Day, all Buchim employees received monetary awards, while an additional 30 employees from various organizational and production units were recognized for their achievements, professionalism, and dedication.
The celebration continued in Radovish with concerts by “Memorija” and “Area,” open to employees, their families, and the entire local community.
DPTU “Buchim” DOOEL Radovish extends its congratulations on Macedonian Miners’ Day to all current and former miners and employees, with gratitude for their contribution, professionalism, and dedication.
Because true wealth lies not only in what the earth provides, but also in what people create together.
Good Luck!
