The activities are part of a broader cooperation focused on continuous reforestation.
DPTU “Buchim” DOOEL Radovish, in cooperation with the Public Enterprise “Macedonian Forests”, is launching a joint initiative for the reforestation and revitalization of areas affected by wildfires.
The first field activity will take place on 25 April 2026 and will include the planting of approximately 5,000 saplings across around 2 hectares on Mount Goten, which was affected by wildfires earlier this year. The aim is to support the restoration of forest resources and the revival of natural processes in the affected areas.
The activities are carried out based on a Memorandum of Cooperation and are implemented with the professional support of the Public Enterprise “Macedonian Forests”, which also provides the planting material. The process includes site preparation, selection of appropriate species, and organized planting. Employees from Buchim will also participate in the action, contributing directly to its implementation on the ground.
The Public Enterprise “Macedonian Forests” highlights that such activities are part of regular forest management practices, and that their implementation in partnership with companies enables greater efficiency and improved results.
The Director of the Public Enterprise “Macedonian Forests”, Zdravko Trajanov, stated:
“Reforestation of burned areas represents an important measure for enhancing forest resources, requiring professional planning and coordinated implementation in line with established forestry practices. Positive results are achieved when such activities are carried out in partnership with companies, ensuring more efficient implementation on the ground and the long-term sustainability of the restored areas. This approach has the potential to serve as a model of good practice at the national level.”
The Deputy General Director of Buchim, Ivica Karapetrov, stated:
“Cooperation with the Public Enterprise ‘Macedonian Forests’ represents an important prerequisite for the high-quality and professional implementation of reforestation activities. This partnership approach ensures effective execution on the ground. Reforestation of burned areas is a process of long-term significance, and joint efforts contribute to the gradual restoration of forest resources and the achievement of sustainable results.”
